“Weave” is from the traditional weaving found in indigenous communities common across countries in Latin America, Asia, and Africa—the same countries where the coaches come from or dedicate their incredible work to. It highlights the Global South identity of our community.
Weave symbolizes the critical role of coaches for their client organizations to achieve systems change: looking at the whole, complex tapestry and helping to tie together ideas, sources of inspiration, or critical relationships that leaders may have lost along the way because of all the constant doing and running that they find themselves in.
Weave coaches help to elevate the strategic ability of organizations to make difficult but necessary shifts in the way they think, work and relate. As any good coach, they support organizations and their leaders to create stillness and deep focus to be able to achieve their core purpose.

What is a “systems change coach”?
Given how complex and demanding systems change work is, an excellent coach is indispensable to any organization who is serious in wanting to achieve it.
A systems change coach is a strategic-level advisor who:
a) has extensive experience accompanying NGO leaders and teams through complex strategy processes, and the necessary organizational development and change management required to implement their vision;
b) understands the context and unique political economy of the country or region of the organization;
c) understands and is deeply committed to gender equality, empowering their clients to make this central in their work;
d) practices empathy and deep listening, being able to create trusting relationships with the organization’s leaders and their staff; and,
e) provides a critical external perspective that supports leaders, their Boards, and team in re-examining their assumptions and embracing a truly curious, learning mindset.
